Following Joe Hart’s retirement last summer, Schmeichel reunited with Rodgers at Celtic, where he has rediscovered a sense of purpose and stability, contributing to the club’s impressive start to the season.

With Celtic tied at the top of the Premiership alongside Aberdeen, and key fixtures such as a League Cup semi-final and a Champions League clash against Atalanta on the horizon, Schmeichel has played a pivotal role in the team’s recent success.

In an interview with TNT Sports ahead of Celtic’s Champions League tie, Schmeichel spoke highly of Rodgers’ managerial approach, particularly the clarity and simplicity he brings to the game.

“He’s had a massive influence. When I look back at my previous years or times with Brendan, it’s probably the best football I’ve played has been under Brendan.

“He has a way of making you understand the game, a way of thinking about the game, simplifying the game, that makes you really appreciate how enjoyable football can be. His style of management suits me very well, he’s a very good man-manager.

“Tactically, he knows exactly what he wants, he’s very clear in his message and for me I think that’s the most important thing through the years that I’ve learnt: when a manager can give you clarity that’s massive because it’s such a help to players when you have a clear message.”

The Keeper has been a breath of fresh air between the sticks.

He hasn’t really been tested too much in the league, conceding just the three goals this season, but his distribution is some of the best seen from a Celtic goalkeeper in recent years.

In Dortmund, when Celtic conceded seven goals, they could thank the Dane that it wasn’t double figures. He pulled off a great few stops as he tried to stop the embarrassment reach new levels.
