Massive Cup Final Blow for Celtic

Celtic fans won’t be seeing Jota for at least the next few weeks, Ange Postecoglou has confirmed.

Speaking before the win against Dundee Utd on Sunday, the manager revealed the Celtic midfielder would be missing while giving an update on Welsh and Ralston.

“Welsh and Ralston it doesn’t look like anything serious.” Ange told The National.

Jota will be missing for a few weeks.”

If Ange’s timeline is correct for the Portuguese winger, he’s set to miss the League Cup final later this month; the game is set for Sunday December 19.

Celtic proved on Sunday they could cope in the player’s absence, but it would be hardly ideal heading into a major cup final without one of your star players.

The Hoops have been cursed with injuries this season and continually have men in the sideline. Jota played a lot of football before pulling up against Hearts. The training sessions are intense as well, yet another reason why we need more reinforcements in the January window.

Jota could surprise us and make the final at a push. Ange has had a habit of keeping his cards closed to his chest with returning stars.

Right now, things look bleak and it’ll be up to Mikey Johnston to do the job.
