Massive Celtic Question Remains Unanswered

This morning, Celtic finally confirmed the appointment of a new permanent manager, with Ange Postecoglou taking up the role. One thing that remains to be answered from the club is who will be part of his backroom staff?

Whilst it is expected that both John Kennedy and Gavin Strachan will remain at the club to take the beginning of pre-season, which starts next week, their futures are yet to be confirmed.

Due to Postecoglou’s isolation issues, as he awaits being able to travel to Glasgow from Japan, it’s not ideal that both men will take it despite them not knowing whether they will be part of Ange’s backroom staff.

Some names have been linked to the role, with his former assistants John Hutchinson and Arthur Papas being named as possible candidates. Former Rangers defender Kevin Muscat was also named last week as someone who could take the role. But that was quickly shut down in the press.

In his isolation period, this is something you would imagine the 55-year old would be trying to sort out with both the club if they haven’t already.

Many fans have called for a fresh new look to the bench next season. So, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for both Kennedy and Strachan.
