Massive Boost – Celtic’s £11 Million Man

JOHN HARTSON declared Celtic have been handed a massive boost by the inclusion of Filip Benkovic during Sunday’s win against Dundee.

The defender has been out since before Brendan Rodgers left the club and the bhoys have been doing well in his absence but the Welshman is confident Benkovic’s return to the team will mean big things.

Writing for the Evening Times, Hartson wrote:

“Filip Benkovic has been an excellent addition this season to the backline and although he will go back to Leicester this summer, there are still potentially another ten games for him to play for Celtic.

“Getting a little bit of game time at Dens Park will have helped him and he can really use the next fortnight to kick on now before the Rangers game.”

Leicester will take Benkovic back in the summer after signing him for £11million last summer before sending him out on loan to Brendan Rodgers and Celtic.

The former Parkhead striker also believes Celtic are getting over the worst of their ‘pretty shocking injury list’ with the news Tom Rogic is on his way back and Callum McGregor got 90 minutes under his belt at Dundee.

Olivier Ntcham could be the next man to declare himself fit with Celtic having nearly a full strength midfield going into the last ten games. Although Ryan Christie is still a bit away from returning to action.

Celtic have a league to wrap up and a Scottish Cup to fight for so they will need all hands on deck between now and May.
