As time has progressed and Kyogo Furuhashi has moulded into a Celtic striker who will be remembered for several colossal goals, naturally, comparisons have begun to be drawn between himself and some Hoops greats.
Many a fan believe the Japanese, who has scored 49 goals in 76 appearances since Ange Postecoglou brought him to Glasgow, is the foremost striker the club has had since Henrik Larsson and that he could go on to be compared to the legendary Swede.
For the 28 year old to be even considered in the same conversation as a man who netted 242 goals in 315 Celtic appearances over seven years at the club shows he is doing something right.

Obviously, most Celtic fans will know of the tremendous ability of Larsson and his free scoring capabilities although one man who does more than many others is Martin O’Neill.
The Northern Irishman managed the striker for the majority of his time in Glasgow and on the comparisons between him and Kyogo, said (Glasgow Times):
“Let me put it this way, he is on the right path at this moment. He has a lot to do but even to draw some sort of comparison with Larsson shows he is doing okay.
“I am sure the manager (Postecoglou) is delighted with him as I was with Larsson.”
It is early days with Kyogo compared to Henrik Larsson as he has only been at the club almost two years but if the Japanese keeps going at the rate he is for the foreseeable future, his ceiling will be almighty.
