According to reports in the US, top Celtic target Mark McKenzie is on the brink of a move to Belgian side Genk.
The Hoops have been chasing the American defender for some time and could’ve brought the New York born footballer in during this summer window.
The club opted for Shane Duffy at the time and have still been keeping tabs on Mark.
It has emerged the Philadelphia Union player is Belgium bound and presents a major blow to Celtic before the market opens on January 4th.
News from me:
The Union will indeed sell centerback Mark McKenzie to Belgian club KRC Genk, multiple sources tell The Inquirer. I don’t have the financials yet, but I understand the deal is done.https://t.co/3fNxQvg62Q pic.twitter.com/lMiNwxOKVp

Celtic are horrible at getting deals done early and have missed out on many targets in the past because they like to take their time.
Hopefully more defensive targets have been identified because it’s an area of the pitch the club need to boost.
Elhamed is likely to leave in January and we’re one injury away from having to shuffle our whole defence.
