Go Radio pundit Mark Guidi believes that Celtic will be negotiating a new contract with Ange Postecoglou.
Celtic offered the Aussie boss a one-year rolling deal as Celtic does with all their managers. After less than a year at the club, fans are keen for the club to show further backing of their manager and offer him a long-term deal.
Guidi claimed that he believes that negotiations are ongoing in the background, saying; [Go Radio]
“I’m sure that Celtic will be sitting down with his representatives and in the near future, if that hasn’t taken place already. I think they’ll want to be ahead of the game. Those initial talks should have taken place already.
“They might offer a three or four-year contract rather than a one year rolling. So I don’t see him doing anything other than what he’s doing for the next 15 months or so.
“After that? You never know. I think it would send out a great message at some point at the end of the season.”
Postecoglou has already committed himself to Celtic, saying he is working as if he’s here for the next ten years. It’s brilliant to hear the manager say that, but having him tied term on a three or four-year contract would be better.
The manager has already attracted interest from down south, with Man City admirers of the boss who used to be in the city group.
Although, his future at Celtic won’t be at the forefront of his mind at the moment. Postecoglou is preparing to lead his team out at Hampden in the Semi-Final of the Scottish Cup before completing the league season.
