Marian Shved Joins Celtic’s Champions League Rivals

MARIAN SHVED has joined Celtic’s Euro rivals Shakhtar Donetsk on a five-year deal and will now come up against his former club both home and away in the Champions League.

Marian had an unpleasant spell at Celtic. He was signed unbeknownst to manager at the time Brendan Rodgers. The winger was loaned back to his club for the rest of that season before joining in the summer with Neil Lennon in charge.

The winger didn’t get much game time at all and had to settle for loans away before finally making his exit to Mechelen. The Ukrainian winger downed tools at the Belgian club this summer in order to push through a move to Shakhtar, and he’s finally got his wish.

It’ll be interesting to see Shved come up against his old side in Europe’s Elite Competition.
