Rapid Wien are still waiting on Celtic to give the green light for Marco Tilio’s departure, with the Austrian club’s sporting director Markus Katzer describing the winger as “the perfect fit” for their squad.

A deal is already in place – a season-long loan worth around £350,000, with an obligation to buy for £1.3m, if certain conditions are met – but Celtic have yet to sanction the move as Brendan Rodgers looks to bring in more wide options before letting the Australian international leave, which there is no imminent sign of.
Katzer insists the agreement on the table is “a good and fair deal for both” clubs and remains optimistic about securing the 23-year-old. The Rapid chief even compared Tilio’s potential impact to that of their in-form star Petter Nosa Dahl, who has two goals and an assist in his first two matches this season.
“Tilio could contribute just as much as Dahl, even though he plays differently,” Katzer told Austrian media outlet Kurier.
For now, Tilio remains part of Celtic’s squad, but with game time looking limited, Rapid are prepared to wait until later in the window to see if Celtic finally allow the move to go through.
He’s not been involved in any of Celtic’s matchday squads yet, and it doesn’t look like that will change. Brendan Rodgers is still looking to add some quality players at the top end of the pitch to his squad.
