Major Celtic Boost Ahead of January Restart

CELTIC have been handed a major boost coming out of the winter break after it was confirmed this evening Ryan Porteous will be suspended for Hibs game against Celtic.

The two clubs will go head to head on January 17th, playing the tie that should’ve gone ahead in December had it not been for new restrictions.

Ryan has been found guilty of misconduct against Aberdeen by the SFA and has incurred a three-match ban, ruling the player out of the Parkhead tie. [RecordSport]

Ryan is one of Hibernian’s best and influential players and to have him out of the game is a boost for Ange Postecoglou’s side.

The bhoys will look to hit the ground running when the game starts back up.

We have no idea if the game will be held in front of fans at the moment. Things are precarious and it’s anyone’s guess if restrictions will be eased by then.

Postponing the game and bringing the winter break forward has at least given fans a fighting chance of getting into the stadium.
