Maik Nawrocki’s Football Boots

Celtic completed the signing of Polish central defender Maik Nawrocki earlier this week. The 22-year-old joined the champions from Legia Warszawa for a fee of 5 million euros (Transfermarkt).

Nawrocki is yet to make his Hoops debut, but that does not mean he will not be eager to contribute. The defender will be itching to step on the pitch for his new club and look to have numerous memorable moments and matches in Glasgow. If he does so, he will get to add to his ever-growing memorabilia collection.

Every match Nawrocki remembers fondly, he keeps his boots from. He said (The Scottish Sun): “I keep all my old boots at home. I don’t throw them away. I have maybe 20 pairs at my home in Poland, and maybe another 15 back in Germany. They are from some memorable games, for sure. I just like to keep them in boxes.”

Nawrocki’s tradition is rather unusual. By the end of his time at Celtic, though, it will be hoped that he has many old pairs of boots. It will only bode well for the Hoops if he does, and here’s hoping he can succeed and come to the fore in his debut year at Parkhead.
