Lustig Could Make Quick Return to Scottish Football

There are a lot of ifs at the moment but there is now a scenario where Mikael Lustig makes a quick return to Scotland to take on former foes Aberdeen in the Europa League.

Aberdeen take on Rijeka in the next round with Gent taking on AEK Larnaca for a place in the playoff. If Gent and Aberdeen win their respective ties it would put Lustig on a collision course with Derek McInnes and The Dons just a couple of months after leaving Celtic.

The Swede left the club after eight successful years at Celtic Park. The club and player couldn’t come to terms over a new deal and the player chose to head to Gent where he was offered security with a three-year deal.

Lustig and Aberdeen have never been the best of friends with the Swede and McInnes having more than a few flashpoints during his Celtic run.
