Boyhood Celtic fan Luke McCowan has lifted the lid on his phone call with Hoops manager Brendan Rodgers on transfer deadline day.
The champions secured the midfielder’s services for £1m plus add-ons in a rather shrewd piece of business.

The 26-year-old comes in as an adept squad player who is more than capable domestically.
McCowan, who supported Celtic growing up, admitted it felt surreal when he pulled on the famous green and white hoops after putting pen to paper.
Highly rated by manager Brendan Rodgers, McCowan is somewhat of a late bloomer.
He came through at Ayr United but has played for Dundee in both the Championship and Premiership over the past few seasons. The midfielder has been a standout for the Dens Park side, though, and more than earned his move to Glasgow.
Just before he signed for Celtic, McCowan detailed how his new boss Rodgers gave him a classy phone call.
“He got my number and gave me a lovely message”, revealed the new bhoy (Celtic FC on X).
“As soon as I phoned him he was nothing but complimentary about myself.
“He welcomed me to the club and after two minutes on the phone I was ready to run as fast and hard as I can anywhere on the pitch for him, so I’m ready to go.”
McCowan could make his Hoops bow in this afternoon’s Glasgow derby.
It would be a baptism of fire for the midfielder, but it would be an opportunity he’d relish.
