Luis Palma Celtic Exit Latest

Celtic winger Luis Palma has reportedly been eyed by several clubs after his move to Rayo Vallecano stalled, as the Spanish club hit a stumbling block following FIFA’s transfer ban.

He looked set to travel to Spain to join Rayo Vallecano on loan, with an option to make the move permanent for £2.1 million. However, a stumbling block was put in place by the governing body.

The ban, related to unpaid debts from previous transfers, was imposed after Rayo Vallecano failed to settle an £85,000 debt. However, the issue was resolved within 24 hours, and the La Liga Side are now reportedly allowed to sign players immediately.

It appears, however, that the sanction has affected the move, with Football Insider reporting that Sunderland, Stoke, Swansea, and Queens Park Rangers are now interested in the Honduran winger.

Palma has also been linked with a move to Genoa under Patrick Vieira and a return to Greece with European Conference League winners Olympiacos. He previously played for rivals Aris Thessaloniki from 2022 to 2023 before joining Celtic.

Despite his lacklustre performances for Celtic over the past year, Palma showed promise when he first joined the Hoops, and there is clearly still a player there.

However, he doesn’t seem to fit into Brendan Rodgers’ style of play as well as the likes of Daizen Maeda, with Palma at times becoming predictable in his attacking play.

A move away from Glasgow could certainly reignite his career, with Celtic supporters likely to wish him well.
