Former Scottish football commentator Derek Rae who now covers German football for ESPN has delivered his verdict on where Georgios Giakoumakis is likely going to end up.
Rae was asked about Werder Bremen’s potential move for the striker – the media have said for some time it’s between Werder and Celtic for the player’s signature.
Covering German football in depth, Rae seems certain Georgios will NOT be heading to Germany and that it ‘looks like Celtic’ will be his next destination.
Giakoumakis? I don’t think Bremen will be able to get him. Looks like Celtic.

It’s a move we’ve been watching closely. It’s clear Celtic have a massive interest in the Greek striker, but nothing has progressed to the point a medical is needed.
Celtic have so many strikers on their books already, the bhoys could be looking to offload one before next weeks deadline.
Edouard is the man who would like a move away but will Celtic get a satisfactory offer. The club have to weigh up what Edouard could bring to the team this season over what kind of offer might be on the table.
Giakoumakis is more a target man and would give the hoops something very different up front. Ange has been spot on with his signings so far, so you have to imagine if the manager wants the player, it can only be a good thing.
