Celtic midfielder and Cork City loanee Barry Coffey played his part in a late fightback as his current side lost out on penalty shootouts to top division Irish side St Patrick’s Athletic.
On the night, the 20-year old played the entire 120 minutes of the game, scoring a crucial 95th-minute strike to level the game up and take it to extra time in the FAI Cup tie.
Unfortunately, despite the goal Cork City who currently sit in 7th place in the Irish 1st division, lost out on penalties to St Pats, who sit in 2nd, the division above Cork.
Even though he played a crucial role in getting his side back into the game, Coffey also missed a penalty in the shootout, which his side ultimately went on to lose 4-2.

City fans were still full of praise for the midfielder, who has now scored three goals in his first five appearances with his loan side – already bettering his tally from his loan spell with Cliftonville in the back end of last campaign.
