Loanee Makes Return To Action After Months Out

On-loan Celtic left-back Boli Bolingoli this afternoon made his return from injury after a four months lay-off due to knee surgery.

The Belgian left-back started on the bench for Turkish Champions Istanbul Basaksehir, before coming on to play the final 15 minutes of the game in a 0-0 draw against Alanyaspor.

It has been a pretty dreadful campaign for Basaksehir who currently sit just outside the relegation zone on goal difference. So Boli has returned at a good time, to give them more options in defence as they gear up for the end of the season and battle against relegation.

Bolingoli’s last action for the Turkish side was actually back in Decemeber in their Champions League tie against PSG, so it shows how far they have fallen this season, going from title winners to relegation candidates.

This could be a crucial period for Boli’s future, playing for a possible permanent transfer in Istanbul with them having an option to buy at the end of the season.

Over the next few months, his future will likely be decided and we will know if we are seeing the return of the controversial left-back in the summer, for a new manager to assess.
