The Celtic manager, who led his team to a thrilling win, revealed his sentiments on his return to the Glasgow giants.

“It’s amazing. It feels like home. I’ve been fortunate enough in my career to manage some fantastic clubs, but nothing gives the feeling like being back here with people I would regard as family and just being in the arena here,” Rodgers expressed with evident fondness to Clyde 1.

Having previously led Celtic to a historic Invincible season and set up the treble treble during his tenure between 2016 and 2019, Rodgers clearly has an emotional connection to the club and its supporters.

He left with Celtic in a strong place to win the league and Scottish Cup, after already winning the League Cup for the season.

“So, I’m looking forward to it and I’m going to relish every second of it. But I think going away made me realise what I had and I was never sure if I would have that again,” Rodgers further confessed.

Rodgers, who left Celtic midway through the 2018/19 season for Leicester City, seems to be reflecting on the unique bond he had formed with the Celtic family and is relishing the opportunity to reignite that relationship.

“To be able to have the chance to have that again with the players, that staff and the supporters, with that I need to win and I need to prove myself again.”

His return to Parkhead has clearly invigorated him and, aware of the expectations that accompany his position, Rodgers seems determined to continue the legacy he left behind, acknowledging the necessity of winning and proving himself once more to the Celtic faithful. The road ahead may be challenging, but it’s clear Rodgers is ready to embrace it head-on, armed with his love for the club and his undeniable managerial prowess.
