Linfield Manager Desperate Not to Get Embarrassed

You may admire the man’s honesty even if you don’t admire the man himself. David Healy spoke candidly about the uphill battle his side face at Celtic Park this evening, hoping his players can pull off a performance that won’t be humiliating.

Celtic only scored two against Linfield on Friday, but with 27 shots on goal with 13 of them on target, it was down to some good goalkeeping and a bit of luck that Linfield only conceded two.

The Irish club now come to Glasgow in the hope they can stifle Celtic anyway they can.

This is what David Healy had to say.

“We don’t want to be lambs to the slaughter. We’ll be positive when we have possession, but we’ll also need to be organised and disciplined, which the players to their great credit were last Friday night. For Celtic to not score a goal for 70 minutes, with the quality they have, was a huge credit to the players.”

Celtic are expected to cruise into the next round this evening with a two goal and home advantage. It will be Rosenborg or Dundalk next up for the Scottish Champions.
