The banner, which showed support for Palestine has drawn significant attention and controversy across the world.

Following this, Celtic publicly rebuked their fans for the political message shown during the game. In response, the Green Brigade labelled the board’s decision to condemn the banner as ‘hypocritical’, given the club’s history of political engagement.

Former Celtic player, Nir Bitton, vocally criticised those who displayed the banners, emphasising the divisive nature of such messages in a sporting context.

Liel Abada, who has been capped ten times for the Israeli national team, is believed to have held discussions with senior figures at Celtic regarding the complex situation he currently faces.

However, one of Abada’s teammates from the Israel national team, Haziza, is clear about what the young talent should do.

Playing for Maccabi Haifa in Israel, the outspoken Haziza stated, [SunSport] “Liel Abada…you should have moved on from Celtic a long time ago.

“Go to another club immediately.

“God will bless you even more if you leave.”
