LIEL ABADA has been linked in an eight-figure move to Crystal Palace in recent weeks after an impressive first season with the Hoops.
In his maiden season in Scotland, he’s had twenty-six goal involvements, an impressive stat considering he’s struggled for minutes since Kyogo got himself fit. Resigned to the bench, he’d still come on and impact the game, scoring some crucial goals along the way.
It was unlikely that Abada would pack his bags and join Patrick Viera’s side. However, the player himself has stated he is excited for next season with Celtic. [Daily Record]
“I just finished my first season at Celtic. I’m having fun here, I’m fine here. What will happen next? I cannot know.
“I will be with family and friends and prepare ourselves for next season. There is a team and at the moment it is not right to talk about what will happen.
“Next season will be very significant. It’s my childhood dream to play in the Champions League.”
At just 20 years old, Liel will only get better as he develops. He’s surprised Ange Postecoglou this season, being brought in to provide cover to James Forrest. However, he’s played more than the veteran winger.
Heading into next season, he’ll look to nail down a starting role in the Celtic team. This will be a difficult challenge for the player, with Postecoglou looking to stick with Maeda, Kyogo and Jota leading the line.
