Liam Scales Outlines The Key Difference Between This League Title Win and Previous Triumphs

Although he receives vast criticism at times, one cannot deny the fact that Liam Scales has come into the Celtic team this season and has been a reliable asset.

When other players have been injured or unavailable, the Irishman has proved dependable for manager Brendan Rodgers.

Across all competitions, he has made 43 appearances. He played every single minute in the Champions League for his side and has missed just four league matches so far.

The transformation in his career from this time last year is quite something and personally, Scales is enjoying this title triumph more than others.

In his first year in Glasgow, the 25-year-old picked up a league winners’ medal but having made only five Premiership appearances during said campaign, he didn’t play much of a part.

He felt this, but now, Scales is much more included in the celebrations and thinks he is worthy of rejoicing in his team’s achievements.

Post-match on Wednesday, he was asked whether he feels more included in celebrations now: “Yes, definitely”, replied the defender [The Celtic Way].

“The first year before I went on loan, it was like that a bit. It was bittersweet. You were celebrating because the lads are your friends and your teammates but you feel like you haven’t played your part as much as other people and it’s not as good. But I know I can really enjoy this now.

“I feel an important part of it and it is much easier to feel and celebrate the emotions of winning it this way.”
