Liam Scales is focused on maintaining Celtic’s impressive defensive form as they aim to match a Scottish Premiership record when they take on Ross County this Sunday.

Brendan Rodgers’ side are yet to concede a goal in the league after six matches, and another clean sheet in Dingwall would see them equal the top-flight record of seven consecutive cleansheets at the start of a season, set by Rangers under Steven Gerrard in the 2020-21 season.
Speaking ahead of the match, Scales talked about the importance of a strong defensive foundation, particularly in light of Celtic’s attacking firepower.
He said: “We know if we can have a good foundation, keep a clean sheet, we’re more than likely going to score goals and that’s going to win us games with the attacking quality we have.
“So it does give us something else to aim for, to keep going on this run and go as long as we can really.”
The Hoops will be looking to bounce back from their 7-1 Champions League defeat to Borussia Dortmund midweek, and continuing their domestic defensive run will be key to regaining confidence. Celtic’s resilience at the back has been a cornerstone of their league form so far, and Scales is determined to help the team build on it.
A clean sheet in Dingwall would not only bring Celtic closer to breaking the record but would also help restore some pride after their European disappointment.
After the match in the highlands, the players will break up for thew international break, and those who haven’t been called up will be given a few days off before they return to training next week.
