Lennoxtown Admission: Celtic Fans Will Be Delighted With Jeremie Frimpong

JEREMIE FRIMPIONG escaped a very serious injury against Motherwell on Sunday when Devante Cole lunged at him during the 4-1 win at Fir Park.

Now the defender has the all-clear to resume training, he’s wasting no time at all.

With the international break upon us, there are many Celtic players left behind at Lennoxtown who have days off which their international team-mates don’t get.

However, Jeremie is using his days off to head into Lennoxtown and train more.

The right-back is cognisant his final ball has been lacking. There’s no doubt about Jeremie’s ability to beat a man or two down the right wing but when it comes to his end product, it can be all over the place.

The young Celtic star revealed, he’s working on it!

“Consistency is obviously really important so, as a team, we’re all focusing on finding those high levels of performance and building on them game to game,” said Frimpong in this week’s Celtic View  “We need to improve individually as well as a team and I’ve been trying to do that.

“I’ve been staying on after training to work on some areas I want to improve on. I’ve been focusing on crossing and delivery into the box. I’ve been getting into those areas but my final ball was letting me down.

“I want to improve my crosses and passing in those areas because I know it can really help the team. The coaches and gaffer have been helping me with that after training and it’s something I’m going to keep work working on.

“When I got the assist in the Lille game, I was really happy because I’ve been working hard on it and it made a difference for the team. Hopefully, I can get many more assists.”

The whole Celtic team who are left behind should be redoubling their efforts to make sure they can hit the ground running a week on Saturday against Hibernian.

Easter Road is not a happy hunting ground for the bhoys but they must go all out for the win and try their best to keep a clean sheet which hasn’t been easy this term.
