Following the final league match of the league season, James Forrest was presented with a special award by Lisbon Lion Bobby Lennox, recognising his incredible achievement of becoming the most decorated player in Celtic’s storied history.

The symbolic moment marked a passing of the torch from one of the club’s greatest ever figures to a modern icon who has spent his entire professional career in green and white. Forrest, 33, overtook Lennox’s haul earlier this season, and now stands alone at the top with 26 major honours – a record unmatched in the club’s long history.

The ceremony took place on the pitch at full-time, with Celtic chairman Peter Lawwell also honouring Lennox’s achievements.

It was a fitting tribute to Forrest, who sealed his place in history with a dramatic equaliser in stoppage time against St Mirren, scoring in a 16th consecutive season for the club. A moment of brilliance on a day already steeped in emotion, capped by the presence of Celtic royalty in Lennox.

A reminder, if ever one was needed, of what it means to wear the Hoops – and the legacy that comes with it.
