Celtic are still being linked with Motherwell’s midfielder Lennon Miller, as talk builds with the summer transfer window into full swing.
The 18-year-old has caught the eye of several clubs across Europe, and it now looks likely he’ll leave Fir Park in the coming months. It’s been reported that Motherwell boss Jens Berthel Askou is getting ready to sell him.

Talk around Miller grew louder when he was left out of the squad for the Premier Sports Cup match against Clyde yesterday. Motherwell won on penalties, winning 5-4 after a 2-2 draw. His absence sparked online rumours of a possible transfer, but that was quickly cleared up.
BBC Sport Scotland’s Brian McLaughlin explained that the midfielder was missing because of injury, not because of any move.
He said: (BBC Sportsound), “My understanding is that Lennon picked up a slight knock in a closed door game against Carlisle and is going to be out for a week to 10 days or so.
“Nothing too serious at all but there is significant interest in Lennon. USG in Belgium and Como are two clubs who are keeping a very close eye on developments.
“Interestingly enough both of those two clubs use Jamestown Analytics, who Hearts use as well.”
Motherwell now face a decision with the transfer window already open. The club are expected to consider all offers seriously, especially from abroad, where the best value may lie. While they won’t stand in Miller’s way, they’ll be looking to get the right deal. His progress over the past year suggests he’s ready to take the next step.
A move to Celtic would fit with their long-term approach of signing and developing young Scottish players. Adding Miller would bolster midfield depth and suit Brendan Rodgers’s focus on technically gifted players. The 18-year-old’s passing and vision would bring something different to the squad.

The interest from Belgium also reflects a growing trend. Young Scottish players are increasingly being picked up by clubs on the continent who believe they can polish raw talent. Both USG and Como use data-driven recruitment, and by all accounts, they’ve been tracking Miller closely.
While he recovers from his knock, Motherwell are likely already speaking with potential buyers. If offers land soon, talks could move quickly. Celtic are still in the race, but Miller’s future may be decided before he kicks a ball again for the Lanarkshire side.
