Lennon Gives Cautious Edouard Update

Celtic really struggled yesterday in the first half upfront, every time the ball was knocked forward Lewis Morgan was too easily shrugged off the ball. The winger turned striker is not at fault at all as there was no way he could out muscle his way into any shooting positions yesterday. He is never a lone striker.

As the Leigh Griffiths saga continues Celtic are short upfront and they really needed their top striker Edouard playing for 90 minutes yesterday. Instead, he got on for 30 minutes but the Celtic manager has just said they need to be cautious bringing him back into the team.

On Thursday the Hoops will travel to Romania to face off against Cluj for the fourth time this season. Technically it is a game when Lennon can rest some of his stars and give other players some more game time. Celtic will then face off against a struggling Hibs team this Sunday at Paradise. It would make sense to rest a few players but the manager has stated many times he wants to keep the winning mentality going and will always name his strongest team.

Celtic had all the exact same problems last season when they played most of December without a recognised striker. It is quite possible now that Neil Lennon will have to bring in another striker in January. Griffiths, Bayo & Edouard all out at the same time could have meant disaster but Celtic have managed to keep banging in the goals.
