Leigh Griffiths Set for Falkirk Exit

Leigh Griffiths has been marked for release by Falkirk at the end of the current season once his short term deal comes to an end.

The striker started this season by signing a one-year deal with Celtic, before being sent out to Dundee on loan where things didn’t go well.

In January, both Celtic and Dundee were in full blown discussions about Leigh. Dundee wanted his loan deal cut short and Celtic were insisting he didn’t return.

In then end, Celtic finally cut ties with Griffiths and allowed him to go find a new club on his own. The former Scotland international ended up at Falkirk to try and prove he’s worth a longer term deal but it again hasn’t worked out.

Leigh had his ups and downs at Celtic but it all ended on a sour note after he was sent home from pre-season training.

Ange Postecoglou made the correct decision not to keep Leigh on after someone at the club decided an extra year contract was a good idea. Celtic were short on numbers at the time and didn’t have a lot of options up front.

Leigh will now have to go and find a new club this summer.
