CELTIC have a lot of decisions to make before and during the summer with the announcement of a new full time manager to come along with some high personnel change due to contracts running out and loan moves finishing.
One thing the club will need is a top head of recruitment and after two years at the club Lee Congerton looks like a busted flush. Many were annoyed when Brendan Rodgers didn’t immediately take the man he appointed to be Celtic’s head of recruitment down to Leicester.
For fans who can only see the end result and the players brought in – Lee has been nowhere near good enough in the recruitment market and many would like to see the scout move on this summer.
Leicesters current head of recruitment Eduardo Macia will be leaving the club in the summer and Brendan Rodgers says the club are ‘progressing with some candidates’ but no mention of Lee at this point.
“I know the club is progressing with some candidates, but there is nothing new to add,” Rodgers told Leicester Live.
“There is still work going on behind the scenes and we have a number of recruitment staff still here compiling the list for the types of players, and then the club will appoint someone hopefully soon.
“The club is working very hard behind the scenes identifying the types of players we can bring in, but that is ongoing.”
It was back in March TalkSport reported on Lee Congerton looking to leave the club after Brendan Rodgers had said his goodbyes. Could there be a reunion on the horizon? We hope so! But there’s a high possibility Rodgers goes with someone else, leaving Lee as Celtic’s problem
