English Premier League side Leicester City are reportedly set to complete the deal for RB Salzburg striker Patson Daka. With that news, it begs the question – what happens next for Odsonne Edouard?
As reported by Sky Sports, the Salzburg striker has told Austrian media that he is set to complete a move to the Foxes for around £23 million.
Up until around last week, it looked as though Hoops frontman Odsonne Edouard was set to make a move to the Premier League and reunite with former manager Brendan Rodgers.
Now though, it remains to be seen what his short and long-term future holds right now.
It would be brilliant for a club like Celtic to keep a player with Edouard’s quality for another year in an ideal world.
Ultimately, that simply isn’t feasible and both the club, and Edouard himself will likely be looking to move on in the summer as he enters the final year of his contract.
Yesterday, new manager Ange Postecoglou confirmed that he is still to hold talks with the 24-year old, so we may begin to see more movement once that happens.
However, at this stage it doesn’t appear that any suitors will be making their move at this point in the window and are possibly looking to hold out for a cheaper towards the end of the summer.
