Leicester City Fans Get a Dose of What Celtic Fans Had for Three Years

It’s seven months since Brendan Rodgers walked out on Celtic and with it a part of his legacy he won’t gain back through the passing of time. He will have a very important place in stories as the years go on but the manager will not be spoken about and revered like other Celtic managers and icons of the past.

This is much in part to do with Brendan Rodgers blind ambition to be the very best. In his quest to become one of the top managers of the modern era – anything with emotional attachment or value is collateral damage for the Irishman.

Brendan has had a good start to the season with Leicester and got a fantastic win against Spurs at the weekend. This has left speculation surrounding Pocchetino’s future at Tottenham and like so many times when he was the Celtic manager the papers are already linking Rodgers with a move away from Leicester directly to Spurs.

While this is like paper talk headed up by SunSport, the Leicester fans will be getting a tiny taste of the relentless media pursuit of Rodgers to pack up and leave for his next venture. I doubt Leicester fans have much to worry about this time but the more the results come the more heat will fall down upon them.

Rodgers claimed to have a deep love for Celtic with family ties making him proud to be part of the club. If he can up sticks and leave under those circumstances then he won’t bat an eye-lid when the time comes at Leicester.

Ultimately, there’s only ever one of two ways it can go. The results don’t go his way and they want him out or the results keep coming his way and Rodgers moves on.
