Lee Congerton Heading for Parkhead Exit? – Reports

Is Lee Congerton heading for a Parkhead Exit? According to reports in SunSport, maybe!

The paper claims Celtic’s chief scout, appointed by Brendan Rodgers, is being headhunted by Anderlecht with Frank Arnesen taking on the role of technical director with the Belgian side on Thursday.

Arnesen and Congerton have worked together at both Hamburg and Chelsea, and it’s thought that the new technical director will completely revamp the Belgian club’s scouting system.

If Anderlecht does show interest in the Celtic scout, you’re unlikely to hear many moans or grumbles from the Celtic support.

The Celtic fans haven’t been impressed with the talent coming into the club since Congerton’s arrival with the last two transfer windows being an absolute disaster for the club.

It might be the best things for all parties if Lee did move on this window, leaving a space for someone else to take the role with a fresh approach.

Celtic have found some top talent over the years but have been struggling as of late.

It has to be noted that two of Rodgers best signings of Dembele and Sinclair were not done under Lee but during his time with Celtic so far we have seen the likes of Benyu, Compper and Hendry.
