LEE CONGERTON has joined Serie A overachievers Atalanta as their Manager Director of International Sports.

Brendan Rodgers brought the Welshman to Parkhead in 2017, and it’s safe to say he was pretty useless. At Celtic, fans will remember him for signings of Marvin Comper and Charly Musonda and recommended Celtic signed players well out of their financial capabilities. He, like others, followed the Northern Irishman to Leicester.
Leicester had the 48-year-old as their head of recruitment. They’ve invested well; however, he’s decided to jump early with an overhaul likely in the summer. The Foxes are underperforming and face contract issues, with many key players’ contracts set to expire in 2023.
Celtic have never had someone who has aced recruitment; there has always been that signing that fans laugh at in hindsight. However, Postecoglou has had plenty hits and very few misses at this stage
Every signing he has made has improved the team or added quality depth. Without a person heading the recruitment department, it’s fair to say Celtic have exceeded expectations in the department.
