SIMONE INZAGHI has admitted his star striker Ciro Immobile has a slight injury problem ahead of Celtic’s visit on Thursday night.
The Italian side landed a major victory over Milan at the weekend but it could have come at a cost with Immobile in discomfort after the game.
The way the Lazio gaffer is talking, it sounds like this would maybe be for Celtic’s benefit. Putting a scintilla of doubt in the head of Neil Lennon that the player might not make it on the night. Trying to set a trap for the bhoys in green.
“He had a small problem with his calf and I know how committed he is. I saw he was unsure when hitting a shot and I couldn’t keep him on the pitch even if, being committed, he didn’t want to come off.” Inzaghi told Italian press as cited by RecordSport.
Thankfully, Neil wasn’t born yesterday and he will be setting his side up the way he wants to regardless if Ciro plays or not.
Lazio are trying to approach the game calmy from an outward perspective but they will be hurting after surrendering a 1-0 lead at Celtic Park to lose 2-1 on the night.
The victory for Celtic even more impressive when you consider Lazio just beating Milan at the San Siro.
