Latest Celtic COVID Scare: Irish Camp Positive Tests

Shane Duffy is currently playing in a Euro 2020 playoff away in Bratislava against Slovakia tonight. The Republic of Ireland squad has had two backroom staff test positive for Corona and one of those staff is said to be a physio.

The FAI are said to be set to make a statement after the game but Celtic fans will be holding their breath that they don’t lose any more players due to COVID-19 protocols.

In a similar way to the Scotland set up the staff member had tested negative in Dublin on Tuesday but then a positive result came from a test in Bratislava on Wednesday. The person is also said to be asymptomatic and is feeling well

According to RTE Sport all protocols are being followed and Uefa and the HSE have been notified about the two cases.

Mysteriously, Aaron Connolly and Adam Idah who were two dead certs to get a start for tonight’s game got completely dropped from the squad and there has been no explanation from anyone yet why.

The international break has proven to be a bit of a disaster so far for Neil Lennon with Edouard testing positive in France and Ryan Christie forced to self isolate for two weeks.
