Latest Ange Spurs Signing Could Kickstart Celtic Exit

There is a vast amount of deadwood in the current Celtic squad. Many players don’t look like they have long-term futures at the club, one of those being Gustaf Lagerbielke.

The defender was brought in from Elfsborg over the summer but has failed to nail down a place in the team having made just nine appearances to date. Manager Brendan Rodgers doesn’t seem to fancy the Swede.

A January departure seems likely for Lagerbielke. Lecce was originally linked, but TuttoMercatoWeb stated on Wednesday that the 23-year-old is being monitored by Genoa.

The latter Serie A side are only looking at Lagerbielke because they are aiming to replace the departing Radu Dragusin who yesterday, signed for Ange Postecoglou’s Spurs. This may well speed up Genoa’s move for Lagerbielke that would complete this January transfer merry-go-round involving Celtic and their former boss Postecoglou.

It does seem likely that the man who bagged the winner in the Hoops’ 2-1 Champions League win over Feyenoord will depart this month, and at the minute, Italy appears to be his likely destination.
