Late Night Club Statement Puts Celtic Fixture at Risk

Celtic’s fixture against St Mirren has been put in fresh doubt after it emerged a second St Mirren player has testedpositive for the virus.

We already knew St Mirren’s goalkeeper Jack Alnwick is now isolating after testing positive. This did not put any of St Mirren’s fixture are risk but a second positive could have consequences.

The Paisley club released a late night statement confirming the second positive and said they’ll be making no further comment at the moment.

Celtic are due to play St Mirren on Wednesday but right now this is up in the air. If any more players need to isolate, the game could again be shelved.

The game was already postponed last month due to Boli Bolingoli breaking Covid rules. Another postponement would be a big blow for the club who want to claw the gap back created by the postponements.

We’ll keep you up to date with the latest news. The joint response group will surely be stepping in.
