Celtic’s Kyogo Furuhashi is in the frame to face St. Mirren this weekend despite recent transfer speculation.

The Japanese frontman was linked with a sensational move to English champions Manchester City, but there was nothing concrete in any speculation, according to manager Brendan Rodgers.
The boss spoke to CeltsAreHere this afternoon at Lennoxtown where he lifted the lid on the transfer chatter surrounding Kyogo, and his fitness after he missed last week’s win over Hibernian.
“There’s been nothing from Man City”, he said.
“It’s obviously rumour and gossip.
“Most importantly for me he’s back feeling comfortable back on the grass.
“He’ll be available for the weekend.”
Rodgers’ update comes after Pep Guardiola confirmed that City likely won’t make any more signings between now and the end of summer.
Keeping hold of Kyogo comes as a massive boost to Celtic. A player of his calibre would be almost impossible to replace in just a week.
Losing Matt O’Riley and the star striker would be unfathomable, and that thankfully won’t be happening.
Kyogo will be staying put and competing with Adam Idah for minutes throughout 2024/25.
