Celtic centre-forward Kyogo Furuhashi was left out of the Japan squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers versus Myanmar and Syria, freeing up part of his summer schedule.
The 29-year-old was one of few Hoops players who remained fit throughout the season, despite his international snub. He played every single one of his side’s 50 games in all competitions in 2023/24, notching 24 goal contributions along the way.

Kyogo was recently linked with a bizarre transfer return to his homeland with Urawa Red Diamonds and while he will be heading back to the land of the rising sun this summer for football, it won’t be in a playing capacity.
Rather, Kyogo will go back to Japan to appear on TV, as a guest for DAZN’s coverage of a J. League game between his old side Vissel Kobe and Kawasaki Frontale, whom Reo Hatate used to play for:
It was revealed Kyogo will appear as a guest on DAZN in the league game Vissel Kobe v Kawasaki Frontale on June 16🇯🇵 It's a pity that he wasn't called up for Japan International this time, but Kobe supporters sincerely welcome you to come to watch the game🍀@Kyogo_Furuhashi pic.twitter.com/6ck1s75SNJ

The match, which is on June 16th, kicks off at midnight UK time, and it remains to be seen whether there is a legal way Celtic fans in Scotland can view it and see their hero doing some punditry.
