Kyogo Furuhashi answered questions from supporters on Celtic’s official social media account on Thursday afternoon and he finally gave us an answer to his trademark celebration!

One fan asked about the origins of the celebrations that sees Kyogo lift his arms over his head and join hands.

The Japanese star replied: “A lot of teammates mentioned about my “mushroom” hairstyle so it has become my trademark celebration!”

At Celtic Park; the original ‘mushroom’ was Mark Wilson during his days at the club.

There have been famous Celtic celebrations over the years. Jorge Cadete tworking his finger, Larsson with his tongue out, Scott Brown and the ‘Broony’. All these celebrations get picked up on by young fans and you regularly see them take life on a Saturday morning down the park.

We’d be surprised if the ‘mushroom’ hasn’t already replicated by young Celtic fans.

Kyogo has played a huge part in the first half of Celtic’s season but unfortunately hasn’t been able to feature for most of the second half. The striker is back for the title run-in and could have a big say before the end of the season.
