It wasn’t to be for Celtic on the night, despite being the better of the two teams. Celtic struck first, with Matt O’Riley finding Kyogo who made no mistake in finding the back of the net.
The visitors struck back though, scoring from a corner in what was a hugely disappointing goal for Celtic to concede.
Then, Luis Palma thought he had scored the winner for the Hoops, but he was ruled offside after Maeda got the slightest of touches on the ball.
As Celtic looked to have to settle for a point, Lazio scored the winner through Pedro in the last minutes of the match.
Despite this, Kyogo is still buzzing with his goal. Although, he’s not letting it go to his head, and has vowed to keep on scoring in the competition.
He said: [Football Scotland]
“I’m a little relieved I scored in the Champions League. It’s a big deal for me to have this wonderful opportunity to play in the competition for the second year.
“Do I feel like I have made it? I’d like to think so. But instead of getting carried away, I’ve been working hard and steadily so I can continue to score. I just want to keep going now.”
