Kyogo Makes Very Honest Celtic Admission

KYOGO FURUHASHI has been a sensation since coming to Celtic but if you ask the player himself, he’s not happy with his overall performances to date.

Speaking to CELTIC TV this week, the man from Japan spoke about his time at the Hoops so far and how well the fans have taken to him since coming in from the J-League.

Kyogo has helped Celtic to a League Cup final and despite having over a month out injured, has managed to score 14 goals in all competitions.

The striker isn’t resting on his laurels and made the honest admission that he’s unhappy with his finishing and believes he should be scoring more goals: “First of all as a team, we win the championship. Personally, I want to score at least 20 goals.

“I have been missing opportunities a lot, I want to score goals to support the team.

“I also want to be more aggressive when it comes to defending to support the players at the back.

“When it comes to the team, defence is extremely important. As a forward, it’s crucial for me to chase from the front to make my teammates’ life easier at the defensive line.

“This is part of my style as a player and also a core part of the team concept.

“There is no guarantee for me to play in every game in the future, but I care about how we play as a team.”

It’s great to hear the drive and passion of Kyogo to get even better at Celtic and help win the title.

The wee man is on the sidelines again after picking up an injury against Real Betis in a dead rubber. Fans are still cursing Celtic’s injury luck. As it stands, we have a pivotal game against Ross County on Wednesday and then a Cup Final on Sunday with no recognised striker.

Kyogo hasn’t been ruled out of the cup final yet, but there’s dwindling hope the striker will lead the line.

We can only hope the Japanese forward is back as soon as possible to help Celtic in their trophy charge.
