Japan will announce their squad on March 16th for the upcoming international break and it could give Hoops fans an indication of where Kyogo is in his recovery.
Japan boss Harime Moriyasu is preparing for his side’s doubleheader against Australia and Vietnam and will choose the squad he believes will be able to grab two wins.
Daizen Maeda will almost certainly be called up, Reo Hatate could be on the cusp of a call-up, Ideguchi is unlikely to get the nod; however, if Kyogo is in a place where he can get some minutes under his belt, Japan could call on the striker.

Speaking back in February, as quoted by RecordSport, Moriyasu said he’d make the decision closer to the time: “I think it will be a last minute decision with Kyogo.
“It all depends on his condition then. There would also be a problem with his lack of match fitness too.
“I want to see if it’s possible that he could come out here and we could make a decision then.”
It would seem unlikely Kyogo will be called up given his lack of any game time since the end of 2021. The striker has been out for over three months and rushing him back onto the international stage would be counterproductive for both Japan and Celtic.
If he did somehow make the squad, it would indicate his readiness to get back at it for Celtic.
Hoops fans are hopeful Kyogo will be part of the team for the run-in.
