Kyogo Frustrated Despite Wednesday Night Hat-trick

Celtic striker Kyogo Furuhashi, fresh from scoring a hat-trick in a thrilling 6-4 friendly victory over Queen’s Park, is already setting higher standards for himself ahead of the new season.

Despite his impressive performance, which saw him leave the pitch with three goals to his name after just an hour, Furuhashi expressed a desire for even greater efficiency in front of goal.

The 28-year-old Japanese forward, known for his sharp attacking instincts, remarked on his plethora of chances during the match. “I had a lot of chances to score. I still need to improve on that,” he said on Celtic TV.

Kyogo had a poor season by his standards last term. He had difficulty adapting to Brendan Rodgers’ system, playing in a deeper role than he did under Ange Postecoglou.

He finished on 19 goals and five assists over all competitions, which is still a decent return for the striker. However, it’s nothing on the season before, Ange’s last season, 34 goals and five assists. That’s the numbers he’ll be looking to hit this season.
