CELTIC star Kyogo will NOT be attending the SFWA ceremony on Sunday evening after an eleventh hour call-off.
The man from Japan was supposed to attend the event in Glasgow to pick up his SFWA Player of the year award in person, but due to picking up an injury against Aberdeen on trophy day, the frontman has had to pull out.
The SFWA said: “Unfortunately, on the advice of Celtic’s medical staff, the SFWA Player of the Year Kyogo Furuhashi is now unable to attend the awards dinner after sustaining an injury.
“Kyogo and Celtic have relayed their sincere apologies.”
The bhoys beat Aberdeen 5-0 on the day; Kyogo scoring two before having to go off early in the second half. Kyogo clashed with Aberdeen goalkeeper Kelle Roos as he tried to press the stopper. He looked in considerable pain and had to be helped off the pitch.
After the game, Kyogo took part in the Celtic celebrations but was limping around the pitch as he joined his teammates.

Celtic has a massive opportunity to win a treble on Saturday at Hampden. They will want Kyogo fit and ready to go, but there is genuine concern he might not make it.
Ange famously played the striker against Hibernian in the League Cup final while carrying an injury and he scored the two goals that won the cup.
Given there is plenty of time to recover in the off-season, Ange and Kyogo might think it’s worth the risk for him to play. However, if it has any impact on his fitness going into next season, it might be best to rest him.
It will be the big talking point going into the weekend for sure.
