KRIS COMMONS has delivered his verdict on the current goings on with Scottish football to TalkSport.
In one breath he says Celtic deserve to be the champions if it stays as it is but used the word tainted in another.
This is completely out with Celtic’s hands.
The bhoys have done their talking on the park and created a huge gap at the top of the SPFL table. With all the legal issues a null and void ruling opens up, the season is likely to be determined to have come to a conclusion one way or another.
Commons told TalkSport he believes Celtic should be champions if the fixture list can’t be completed BUT as for the magic of it all, it could be a bit hollow.
“It’s a strange scenario to be in but I don’t think anything ideal will come out of this.” Commons told talksport as cited by THE SUN.
“From a personal perspective I would like to think the season will not be null and void as if it never happened.
“Celtic, 30 games in and 13 points clear of Rangers should be champions, if that is the case.
“It almost feels as it if would be somewhat tainted in a way that they’ve not carried out the full fixture list.
“But, as I said previously, Celtic are top of the league for a specific reason because they have proved to be the best side in Scotland up until these 30 games.
“There could be plenty of twists and turns remaining in these eight fixtures but, it’s one that, would Steven Gerrard actually contemplate that sort of scenario? I don’t know.
“It’s a strange one; the magic nine in a row and going for ten, you’d like to think that Celtic would fulfil their fixture list and everything would be okay in a normal scenario.
“But, at the minute, people’s health, that is the main concern. That is why we’re talking about this right now.”
Clubs who have failed who are failing with regards to this season are rubbing their hands at the current situation. They think they can get a free pass.
The best scenario would be getting the games played, that’s everyone’s first option here. However, should it not be possible, I’m comfortable Liverpool and Celtic both being named Champions.
It’s not ideal but both clubs have blown their competition away and to null and void their efforts would be against what the game stands for in my humble opinion.
