Kris Boyd’s Wishful Thinking

KRIS BOYD has claimed theres thin line between both Glasgow clubs this season and there’s room for his old side to turn things around if they can get to the World Cup break without further falling behind.

Celtic opened up a four point gap at the top of the table last weekend when the bhoys came from behind against Hearts to win 4-3 at Tynecastle.

The Scottish Champions continue to get results, even when they’re up against it.

After a sticky patch in September, October has shown the team’s resilience on the domestic front. In contrast, The Rangers are stumbling towards the World Cup break, finding it very difficult to find a rhythm. There are big questions being asked of Giovanni van Bronkhorst and many of his own support think he should go.

Celtic are in a good place at the moment, but Kris Boyd is banking on his wishful thinking coming true speaking to SunSport:

“It’s four points at this moment in time. If you go back, 15 minutes before the end of the Hearts vs Celtic game, there is an opportunity for Rangers to maybe go and win the game and go top.

“It’s thin lines at this moment in time.

“I think because of the way Rangers have been playing, they will probably be saying to themselves, ‘Let’s hang on in there and get to the World Cup.’

“The weekend was a disappointment for Rangers in terms of dropping points, but you’ve got to say Celtic look as if they are the team right now with the momentum.

“Ange Postecoglou seems to stick by the same team, he’s mixed it up recently, obviously because of the European exertions and then coming back home.

“They dropped points against St Mirren, but other than that, they’ve won all of their games.

“They are in a good place, they are confident and they’ve got a bigger squad than Rangers at this moment in time as well.

“I wouldn’t be ruling Rangers out at this precise moment. Yes, Saturday was a disappointment, but four points can be turned around pretty quickly, that’s for sure.”

Celtic have been missing their captain Callum McGregor, Carl Starfelt and most recently Jota, and have still managed to score 14 goals in their last three domestic games.

The squad is in a good place and while Kris will be hoping for the tide to turn, Ange Postecoglou will have his side well drilled.
