Kris Boyd has gone off in his latest anti-Celtic rant where he brands the SFA is weak for not coming home hard on Brendan Rodgers for stating the oblivious after Tynecastle.
Rodgers went up in front of the SFA on Thursday where he was given a two match ban, just one up front with another suspended. But media fob Boyd wasn’t happy with the outcome and presumably wanted Rodgers taken out the equation for the Glasgow Derby.
Writing in his Scottish Sun, Boyd said: “Celtic claimed that they were ‘disappointed’ with Brendan Rodgers’ SFA punishment. That official club statement gave me a good laugh when I read it. Who’s kidding who? A one-game immediate ban, with one suspended, was a major result for the Celtic boss after his ‘incompetent’ outburst towards Tynecastle VAR John Beaton.
“I only have one word for the punishment given to Rodgers at Thursday’s hearing – WEAK. And I would love to know the thoughts of Scotland’s top referees when they heard the news. You single out an official and call him ‘incompetent’ and only have to sit in the stand for one game?”
Boyd is looking for any edge possible in the hope his former side go on to win the league. They are in the stronger position at the moment with a two point advantage.
A Rangers win next Sunday would all but seal the title for the Ibrox club so the bhoys must throw the kitchen sink at it and have their manager on the touchline.
Boyd has no semblance of impartiality when he talks in the Scottish media. He is a cheerleader for one club and one club only.
Celtic will have the Irishman in the dugout for the game but first must get past Livingston in order to set up a massive day next Sunday.
Celtic fans will be hoping the bhoys can turn on the style, even on the Livingston last pitch. John Kennedy takes the team as the Celtic manager sits in the stand.
