Kris Boyd Makes Fresh Celtic ‘Problems’ Claim

KRIS BOYD is always good for a laugh, he plays up to the Sky Sports camera like he’s somehow objective but when it comes to Scottish football, wishful thinking takes over.

Like nearly everyone in the mainstream media, they have been trying to find every feel-good story possible about Ianis Hagi since he signed a permanent deal across the city.

It’s been quite nauseating to see some of the headlines talking about a player who many have forgotten was part of the side who absolutely bottled the league. The midfielder playing in the humiliating 1-0 defeat to Hamilton not long before the shutdown.

There’s no doubt he’s a decent player but he’s being talked up as the second coming, just like the players before him who came here, talked a good game and left with nothing.

Speaking to Sky Sports and cited by the Daily Record, Boyd believes Hagi and his teammates can cause Celtic problems this season. Nothing to base this on but wishful thinking.

“He’s a throwback in terms of driving forward and asking the defenders questions. When you’ve got someone like that who will thread balls through, strikers will thrive off it. It’s important that they build a team around players like Hagi to get the core of the team from the defence right through to the strikers.

“There’s no doubt in my mind that can cause Celtic problems next season.”
