KRIS Boyd has shut down talk that Rangers should be winning more trophies due to their “budget“ and wrongly pointed to Celtic‘s spending power as a defence.

Despite the gap between the two Glasgow giants this term, Boyd insists that the season has turned out the way it should have given the financial difference between the teams, claiming Ange Postecoglou has “spent a fortune”.
It’s worth noting that Ange Postecoglou hasn’t spent a fortune, and has focussed on bringing players into the club for a cheap price who then develop and have high resell value.
Matt O’Riley, Reo Hatate, Kyogo, Liel Abada, Daizen Maeda, Carl Starfelt, Alistair Johnstone and Joe Hart all came into the club for fees of less the £5 million. They all started the Glasgow Derby semi-final, showing their quality, as they have all season, to beat The Rangers yet again.
Celtic have been working at a NEGATIVE net spend under Ange Postecoglou.
Celtic have got better recruitment than the Ibrox side, who seem to be focussing on picking up out-of-favour freebies from the Championship.
However, Kris Boyd believes that looking for excuses such as budgets is not the way to go about achieving success and that the recruitment has been poor for The Rangers.
He said: [The Sun]
“You can point to budgets; if that is the case then the way the season has panned out is the correct one.
“Celtic have got by far the biggest budget in the country. I mean, Ange Postecoglou has spent a fortune to a man to get the team he has assembled.
“So, Celtic have the biggest budget, but that doesn’t mean to say you can’t beat Celtic. I think you start looking for excuses when you start going after budgets. Rangers, if you go back to winning the league, the recruitment has been way off it. There are no other words.”
